As with christianity Islam has many different branches but the main view is;

To get into paradise(heaven) you must be good during your life time as this life is just a build up to eternal life or Akhirah. The koran says that Allah will also judge Christians and Jews and will let some into paradise if they are good. As with christianity there is also hell.
